Property

The property is accessed via big iron gates, beyond there is a central area with an enormous eucalyptus tree. The grounds are on two levels roughly split in half. The lower area comprises of the pool with BBQ, bar, changing room, pergola, self contained flat and shed. Several garden areas have been established with a variety of fruit trees, shrubs and flowers; on one end of the garden is a big brick built chicken coup. The upper area contains the house, carport, a dog kennel and parking area. Some parts of the house are 250 years old. It used to be a staging post for mule trains carrying crops from the countryside down to the coast. The main entrance of the house opens into a dining room, next to it is the fully equipped kitchen. Opposite is a small apartment comprising of a double bedroom, a cosy living room and a bathroom, ideal for guests. On the first floor there is a lounge with a wood burning stove and patio doors leading to two terraces, one of which has an old bread baking oven. From the lounge there is access to a twin bedroom, to the bathroom and the spacious master bedroom. The master bedroom has a door to a lovely roof terrace.

The property is located in Los Perez, a small collection of houses about 7 km north of Benamargosa and 25 km from the coast. The access is via a short tarmac road apart from the last 100 meters which is a very good dirt track. The property is only 50 meters from the river in a green environment. Malaga with the international airport is about 45 minutes by car.
