Comares lies on a hill top at about 700 m above sea level. It was founded by the Romans and later developed by the Arabs. In the village there are a supermarket and several smaller shops, bars and restaurants. Below the village there is a public pool, open during the summer months. Down to the coast by Velez-Malaga it takes approximately 40 minutes and to Malaga capital it is an hour’s drive.
